Ongoing Medical Relief Trip to Haiti
Our medical missions to Haiti will be ongoing throughout this year. We are working with several organizations to provide care to the injured patients in Haiti. We are currently working in collaboration with the Haitian American Professionals Coalition (HAPC) for future missions to devastating areas to Haiti in the coming months. As of now we have sent several dozens of nurses in Port-Au-Prince and more on the way to work with Project Medishare and they are asked to commit from four to seven days. We also have members who have signed up to travel with National United Nurses and local union organization SEIU to Haiti.

HANA will continue the assessment on a scheduled bi-annual visit to a determined area of greatest need in March and October 2010 in Haiti. HANA organizes medical missions at least five times a year in Haiti. HANA was there for the people after the hurricanes two years ago, was there after the flooding last year, and want to continue to be there especially now. But we cannot do it alone, which is why we are asking for your help and support.

Our nurses know that they must be ready to travel within a moment’s notice and have thus responded with great enthusiasm to assist in the relief efforts of the earthquake disaster in Haiti. The length of our mission trips normally lasts from seven to fourteen days. Our goal is to have our members actively participating on as many missions as possible to Haiti this year while providing quality care in our beloved country of Haiti. We want to show the Haitian people that we have not; nor will we forget them.
